Palmeiras win Group A, PSG take Group B, Benfica surprise Bayern to top Group C, Flamengo finish above Chelsea in Group D - in Club World Cup. MLS action resumes tonight 🌏 ☕️

Club World Cup 🌎 ☕️
The Club World Cup is growing on people as the tournament moves along. South America teams - and their passionate supporters - have been particularly impressive, with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola stating:
"I love when I see Botafogo, all the Brazilian teams, Argentinian teams, how they celebrate, how they are together, I love them. I like how all the games are tight, except one or two, and people are surprised, European teams lose. Welcome to the real world. Welcome to the real world my friends.” (Reuters)
Group A
Inter Miami 2 Palmeiras 2
Speaking of South American teams, Palmeiras have grabbed top spot in Group A after drawing 2-2 with Inter Miami.
The historic Brazilian side sealed their comeback from 2-0 down, with an 87th minute goal by Mauricio.
Miami still qualified for the knockout round, in second place.
Group B
Seattle Sounders 0 Paris Saint-Germain 2
After an opening game defeat, European champions PSG have found a way to top their group.
Their 2-0 shutout defeat of Seattle gave them the goal difference they needed to finish in first.
Meanwhile Atletico Madrid were shocked to find themselves on the outside looking in as Brazil’s Botafogo advanced in second spot - via goal difference.
Group C
Benfica 1 Bayern Munich 0
After thrashing Aukland City by 10 goals in their opening game, you’d have thought Bayern Munich were a lock to win their group. Not so.
In losing their final match 1-0 to Benfica, Bayern in fact finished second to the Portuguese giants.
Group D
Los Angeles FC 1 Flamengo 1
After their impressive defeat of Chelsea, Flamengo were favoured to top the group ahead of their match versus LAFC. However Denis Bouanga put the MLS side ahead in the 84th minute, and Flamengo, while in no danger of missing out on the knockout round, managed to tie the game two minutes later through Wallace Yan, to finish ahead of Chelsea.
The Brazilians will face Bayern Munich in the last-16 knockout round on Sunday in Miami.
Today
Group E
Inter Milan and Argentina’s River Plate will face each other at 9:00pm ET to settle Group E. A draw should be enough for River due to goal difference. Though a heavy win by Monterrey over Urawa would make any draw a dangerous prospect for either of the two teams.
Group F
South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns pretty much need to beat first place Fluminense today (3:00pm ET) in order to advance to the Round of 16. That is unless South Korea’s Ulsan Hyundai are able to defeat Borussia Dortmund by two goals or more. A win by both Mamelodi and Dortmund though and Flu would be out. You see how interesting this tournament is getting?
Thursday
Group G
Two of Europe’s heavy weights, Juventus and Manchester City, will face each other at 3:00pm ET on Thursday, both of them wanting to win the game and therefore the group in order to avoid crossing over against probable Group H winners, Real Madrid.
Group H
A draw for Real Madrid vs FC Salzburg (9:00pm ET) would be enough for the Spanish giants to advance in Group H. However, a win by two goals or more by Al Hilal over Pachuca would likely ensure the advancement of the Saudis.
