Soccer Recapp Wednesday ⚽️ ☕️
Mendes leads Portugal to Nations League trophy. Norway thrashes Italy, Argentina and Brazil win, in World Cup qualifying. Miami to open Club World Cup 🌏 ☕️
Nations Blends 🇪🇺 ☕️

Spain 2 Portugal 2 (3-5 on pens)
It was the Nuno Mendes show in Munich, as the Portugal left-back equalized the first Spain goal with a lovely strike, created the chance for the Ronaldo goal that tied the match at 2-2, and then slotted home his penalty to contribute to his nation’s 5-3 win on penalties.
World Cuppers 🌎 ☕️
Norway 3 Italy 0
Many countries are in the midst of important qualifying games for the 2026 World Cup.
Take Erling Haaland’s Norway for instance, who on Friday in UEFA qualifying thrashed four time World Cup champions Italy 3-0, resulting in the sacking of Azzurri manager Luciano Spalletti.
Haaland scored the third goal for Norway on Friday and the lone goal on Monday to defeat Estonia 1-0 and leave his side atop UEFA Group I.
Argentina 1 Columbia 1
On Tuesday, Inter Miami’s Leo Messi featured in this final qualifying match for Argentina, but it was former Atlanta United player Thiago Almada who came up with the game-tying goal in the 81st minute, as the ten-man Albiceleste confirmed top spot in the CONMEBOL table and a ticket to World Cup 2026.
Brazil 1 Paraguay 0
Five-time World Cup champions Brazil also qualified after beating Paraguay 1-0 on a lone Vinicius Junior goal in the 44th minute.
Club World Cup 🌎 ☕️
Al Ahly vs Inter Miami
This Saturday, Miami will be the site of the opening game of FIFA’s new world club cup competition, as Inter Miami will host Egypt’s Al Ahly.
The match will kick-off at 8:00pm ET from Hard Rock Stadium and can be viewed on DAZN.
The Cup brings together the best 32 clubs from each of the six international confederations: AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA.
Major League Americanos 🇺🇸 ☕️
Vancouver Whitecaps 3 Seattle Sounders 0
Despite losing much of their squad due to international duty and a gastrointestinal illness that ripped through their squad after the CONCACAF Champions Cup final in Mexico City, the Caps turned up on Sunday with a bench full of reserve players and managed to whip their west coast rivals by three goals.
Seattle ended the game with only nine players as Vancouver extended their unbeaten run to 11 games, to sit atop the entirety of Major League Soccer with one game in hand.
The Mill ⚙️ ☕️
Manchester City have confirmed the signings of midfielders Rayan Cherki from Lyon and Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan, ahead of the Club World Cup.
Liverpool have made an improved offer of around €134million (£113m) for Bayer Leverkusen’s playmaking wizard Florian Wirtz
Ticket sales for the opening match of the Club World Cup are going so poorly that FIFA are reportedly offering local college students tickets for $20 a piece — with the promise of up to four more tickets for free. That adds up to $4 per ticket. Gulp.
