NFL Conference Championship weekend — the NFC East proves they continue to be the best division in football (we can ignore the Giants), and Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes go head-to-head once again.

Gridiron Grind: A Divisional Rivalry & Maybe the Best Rivalry in the NFL?
Sunday:
(6) Washington Commanders vs. (2) Philadelphia Eagles; 3pm EST on FOX
It’s remarkable what the Commanders have done in season one under Dan Quinn. They went from four wins in 2023 to 14 (including the playoffs) in 2024, drafted the likely OROY, and are playing in their first NFC Championship Game since 1992. Despite going 1-1 against the Eagles this season they have a very tough test ahead of them. In two postseason games, Saquon has 324 rushing yards and two TDs. The two times Saquon has played the Eagles this season? He’s gone for 146 yards and two TDs and 150 yards and two TDs. I’m utterly shocked as I type out those numbers but alas that’s the case. One way or another an NFC East team will be in the Super Bowl, further cementing the division as the best in the NFL 😤.
(2) Buffalo Bills vs. (1) Kansas City Chiefs; 6:30pm EST on CBS/Paramount+
It’s a tale as old as time. Bills vs Chiefs. Allen vs Mahomes. How does it get better than this? In their last ten games both teams are 5-5, granted the Chiefs have been able to get it done in the playoffs while the Bills have not. We all remember the 13-second game, we all remember the Stefon Diggs picture after losing in the 2021 AFC Championship. The Bills handed the Chiefs starters (since the backups played in Week 18) their only loss this season in Week 11. Buffalo fans are over the regular season wins, however. They want to go to the Super Bowl, and they want to beat Kansas City, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Andy Reid to do that. We’ll find out Sunday night if they have what it takes, but one thing that’s for sure - don’t bet against Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs.
